Power Restoration Will Take 24-48 Hours, Town Manager Says

Over 66 percent of the town is in the dark, according to National Grid and the Taylor School will be used as a shelter.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Much of Foxborough remains without electricity following Friday's powerful storm.

As of midnight Sunday, about 43.4 percent of homes in town are in the dark down from nearly 94 percent, according to the National Grid outage map. The estimated restoration time is March 6, 11:45 p.m., the same time given to all area towns with outages.

Town Manager Bill Keegan said in a release that National Grid crews from as far as Canada and New Jersey are working to restore power, but most residents shouldn't expect full restoration for at least 24-48 hours.

Main feeder lines coming into Foxborough were significantly damaged during the storm and are the main focus of repairs, Keegan said. Secondary road restoration will still experience the greatest delay.
