Edelman didn't take the bait, obviously recognizing Ryan's voice and replying that he'll do whatever he's asked to do.

For those wondering, Walt Patulski is a real person. He was a defensive end who played college football at Notre Dame and was drafted by the Bills with the first pick of the 1972 NFL Draft.
Edelman, a former quarterback for Kent State, was believed to be the emergency backup for Jacoby Brissett during last Thursday's game against the Houston Texans. Reports from practice, however, indicate that both Jimmy Garoppolo and Brissett will be available Sunday and Edelman's throwing services will not be needed.

The shenanigans were the latest from Ryan, who appears to be focused on teasing the Patriots this week. Monday, the coach showed off his Bill Belichick impression.

When asked about it Wednesday, Belichick said "I’m not really in tune to all of that. I’m sure it’s important to (the media) but it’s not really anything I spend much time with."
