Giving an update on the field, Business Manager Bill Yukna said the lights have been installed and are in use. On Tuesday night, the field hockey team defeated Milford 3-1 in the first game under the lights and a youth soccer event is planned for Oct. 24.

The granite S to the right of the field is about 80 percent done according to Yukna and should be completed within the next 7-10 days. Inside the S will be a 30-foot flagpole and a memorial for Berns. A formal plaza opening is scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend to allow Berns’ classmates to visit the new addition to the field.
