Selectmen Back Gillette Stadium Commuter Rail Stop
The pilot program received a 4-1 vote and some conditions.

FOXBOROUGH, MA —The state has the town's blessing to provide regular rail service in Foxborough.
Tuesday night, the selectmen voted 4-1 to support the a pilot program for a commuter rail station in Foxborough. Selectman Ginny Coppola was the lone vote following a lengthy hearing with input from officials and residents.
Among the conditions added to the vote are no overnight storage of trains in Foxborough, an oversight committee to be formed in conjunction with the MBTA and the state's Department of Transportation, no crossings in Foxborough, an evaluation at the six month mark, and no additional surcharges or fees to the town.

Set to start late next year or early 2018, the MBTA hopes to offer four daily roundtrips on weekdays from the Gillette Stadium platform to South Station in Boston. The train will travel to Boston through Walpole before jumping on the Fairmont line. Parking will be provided by the stadium lots.
Walpole, who has opposed the plan in the past, is expected to have a lot to say about the service at a meeting Tuesday night.
