Shank Reportedly Found in Aaron Hernandez's Cell

Reports say that the former football player was moved into a segregated unit after the discovery.

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been moved into a separate unit after guards found a shank in his cell.

Sources tell Cheryl Fiandaca of WHDH that the incident happened Thursday during a shakedown of his prison block at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center. Upon the discovery of the knife, he was taken out of the general population and into a segregated unit.

Hernandez is serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd and is awaiting trial for the 2012 double murder of two men in South Boston.
