The Art Gallery at Patriot Place Opens Exhibit Featuring Local Artists

Six anchor artists from the Foxboro Art Association will staff the gallery and display their work.

Patriot Place patrons will enjoy a special treat this weekend. The “Art Gallery at Patriot Place” will open Friday night, April 29, as a weekend art gallery featuring six anchor artists from the Foxboro Art Association.

The Foxboro Art Association artists will staff the gallery and display their work. The remaining display space will be filled by three different “featured artists” each weekend to ensure a fresh display.

The gallery is located diagonally between Life is Good, CBS Scene, and aside of Fossil.

Kim Morin Weineck of the Foxboro Art Association said that the association is "thrilled with this opportunity, [and] looks forward to developing a strong, community-based gallery venue which will be an additional draw to Patriot Place."

"This weekend is our first and, while overwhelming, it's quite exhilarating to get such an exciting opportunity underway," said Weineck.

For the month of May, the Art Gallery at Patriot Place is holding an "Art Supply Drive" to benefit Horizons for Homeless Children. The gallery will be collecting new art supply items to help bring art to homeless children. Any new art supplies, with a focus on markers, crayons, paper, poster paints, acrylics and other items children would enjoy using will be accepted.

"The Art Gallery at Patriot Place is delighted to give a little something back to the community and bring a little happiness to homeless children," said Weineck.

The Foxboro Art Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the arts and artists – specifically local artists within the community. Although the FAA is based in Foxborough, it boasts more than 100 members from 20 different surrounding towns including as far as Rhode Island. It's members range from emerging to elite talent.
