They're Back! Lakeview Pavilion Celebrates Reopening

After 17 months of planning and construction, Lakeview Pavilion is back.

On a beautiful bright September morning, owners and sisters Anastasia Tsoumbanos and Natalia Kapourelakos officially cut the ribbon for their banquet hall, which was destroyed by a fire on a dark evening in April 2014.

A Foxborough landmark since 1906, Lakeview Pavilion has been owned and operated by the sisters since 1988.

“We cannot believe this day has finally come. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for joining us here today. We are truly blessed to share this day with our family, friends, and so many of you that have supported us in the past year and a half. We could not have done it without you,” Kapourelakos said.

For the sisters, not rebuilding was never an option. Days after the fire, the sisters contacted Lou Allevato of Allevato Architects to created a new building. By November, construction began on a new 25,000-square-foot banquet hall. Despite the historical winter, construction never went off schedule.

“They may have derailed the T,” Tsoumbanos joked, praising Stateside Construction for their work.

Decorated in pristine white with a modern look, the new building features two ballrooms. The Lakeview Ballroom and Gazebo is designed for larger weddings while the Lakeside Ballroom and Terrace is for more intimate weddings. Both areas have their own separate entrances and bridal suites.

Like the old building the calendar for Lakeview is already jammed packed with events and functions. The first of many weddings will be held at the new building on Sept. 4, with the return of the Fireman’s Ball scheduled for Sept. 11.
