Town Employees Warned to Avoid Campaign Participation While Working
Town employees are being reminded to not participate in campaign activities while on duty.

After Fire Chief Roger Hatfield admitted to soliciting signatures for Town Clerk Robert Cutler’s effort to gain tenure, Town Manager Bill Keegan is warning town employees to not do the same while on the clock.
“I strongly advise all employees to cease and desist any and all political solicitations using Town resources, while on duty, or while representing the Town of Foxborough in your employment capacity to remain in full compliance with the laws, rules and regulations of the Commonwealth,” Keegan said in an email to town employees according to the Foxboro Reporter.
Last week, it was revealed that Hatfield collected signatures for Cutler while on duty. Veteran’s director Michael Johns admitted to collecting signatures for Cutler’s petition while off duty, which is legal. The water department’s principal account clerk Cheryl Tacey also admitted to collecting signatures while on duty, but was not aware that it was illegal until after the fact.
