Town To Make Case For Train Station Later This Month
Town Manager Bill Keegan said they will go in front of the MBTA's Fiscal Management Control Board for a presentation on the proposed pilot.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Town officials will make their case for a commuter rail pilot program later this month.
Wednesday night, Town Manager Bill Keegan said Foxborough officials will be in front of the MBTA's Fiscal Management Control Board for a presentation on the 11-month pilot program. The proposal calls for full commuter rail service at the Gillette Stadium platform and would include six to eight daily trips.
The update came at the Mansfield Board of Selectmen meeting where the project received the endorsement of that town's board.

If approved, the train would use the Fairmont Line to reach Boston. Once it hits the beginning of the line at Readville, the train would make normal stops across the line before reaching South Station.
The project, which needs FMBC approval, could start as early as 2018.
