Traffic Alert: Over 40,000 Expected for New England Revolution Match

Residents should expect heavy traffic around the stadium Saturday afternoon and evening.

The chants for the New England Revolution will be extra loud Saturday night as a record-breaking crowd is expected to gather at Gillette Stadium for the club’s last home game of the regular season.

Friday afternoon, Revolution President Brian Bilello announced that over 40,000 tickets have been sold for the Revolution’s match against the Montreal Impact. The game is expected to be the highest attended regular season home game in team history.

The previous best was set in 2008 when the Revs took on David Beckham and the L.A. Galaxy in front of 39,256 fans.

Due to the large crowd expected at the game, fans should allow for plenty of time to get around the stadium and those not attending should avoid Route 1 and seek an alternative route.

Parking lots for the 7:30 p.m. game at Gillette Stadium will open at 4 p.m.
