Trump Disappointed Tom Brady Has Distanced Himself: Report
Trump used to brag about his friendship with Tom Brady. Now the president is reportedly disappointed the Patriots QB has distanced himself.

It wasn't long ago that Tom Brady was flashing a Donald Trump "Make America Great Again" hat in his locker. But the days of friendship between the two seem to be gone, according to a new report.
In a lengthy profile of the president by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman, Glenn Thrush, and Peter Baker, it was revealed that Trump is disappointed that Brady has distanced himself. It's a long way from Trump bragging at campaign rallies about having Brady's support.
Brady became linked with Trump in 2015 when reporters noticed the pro-Trump hat in his locker. When asked if he thought Trump could win, Brady replied "I hope so. That would be great. There’d be a putting green on the White House lawn, I’m sure of that."

Trump then turned around and called it an endorsement, while Brady backed off a bit.
Brady continued to dodge questions about his relationship with Trump, at one point walking away from the podium when a reporter asked him about Trump's "locker room talk" comment.

Since the election, Brady has tried to avoid questions about Trump, telling reporters the day after Trump was elected that his wife Gisele Bundchen told him to stop talking about politics.
Perhaps the relationship took a turn when the Patriots visited the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl win. Brady was the most high-profile member of the team to skip the trip, though he cited family matters. In September, he said he disagreed with Trump's belief that NFL players who kneel for the national anthem should be fired.
While not addressing the Brady allegation specifically, Trump unsurprisingly called the story false.
