U2 Announces Gillette Stadium Stop on The Joshua Tree Tour 2017

U2 fans hoping to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Joshua Tree have found what they're looking for.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — It's a beautiful day for local U2 fans hoping to see the band live.

Monday morning, U2 announced that the Joshua Tree Tour 2017 will stop at Gillette Stadium on June 25. The show will be part of a limited tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Joshua Tree album and will be the band's first stop in Foxborough since 2009, when they played a two-night stand.

Joining U2 will be the Lumineers, who will appear as a special guest. Tickets go on sale Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.com.

Released to universal acclaim in 1987, the Joshua Tree was U2’s first No. 1 album in the U.S., topping the charts worldwide, including in the U.K. and Ireland. The album went on to sell over 25 million albums worldwide and turned the band into superstars. The album would go on to win BRIT Award and three Grammys - including Album of the Year and Music Video of the Year for "Where the Streets Have No Name."
