Uncle Buck's Sweeps Patriot Place Chili Bowl Cook Off
Event raises more than $2,500 for the Hockomock Area YMCA's Reach Out for Youth & Families Campaign.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Combining chili and celebrities for charity proved again to be a recipe for success, as the fourth annual Patriot Place Chili Bowl Cook Off presented by Bass Pro Shops attracted hundreds of chili fans and raised more than $2,500 for the Hockomock Area YMCA’s Reach Out For Youth and Families Campaign.
“This was our most successful chili cook off to date and we are so thrilled to be able to provide more than $2,500 to the Hockomock Area YMCA’s Reach Out For Youth and Families Campaign,” said Patriot Place General Manager Brian Earley. “We thank Bass Pro Shops, our celebrity judges and participating Patriot Place restaurants for their support in making this a fun-filled day for our guests. We also want to congratulate Uncle Buck’s Snack Shop for winning the cook off’s top prize.”
Uncle Buck’s Snack Shop at Bass Pro Shops swept the competition at the March 28 event, taking home both the Judges’ and Fan Favorite awards. It was the first victory for Uncle Buck’s in either category of the annual chili cook off and bested last year’s champion, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, for the top prize. Tavolino placed second and Twenty8 placed third. Other Patriot Place restaurants participating in this year’s cook off were Bass Pro Shops’ Blue Fin Lounge, CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar, Davio’s, Red Robin, Skipjack’s and Splitsville Luxury Lanes.

Cast members of National Geographic Channel’s hit series, “Wicked Tuna,” returned as celebrity judges for another helping of Patriot Place’s best chili and were joined by Foxborough Town Manager Bill Keegan and Foxborough Building Commissioner Bill Casbarra.
“We were excited to see so many people attend this great event to benefit local families in need,” said Ed Hurley, president of the Hockomock Area YMCA. “We are grateful for our partnership with Patriot Place, Bass Pro Shops and all of the participating restaurants. The support they have shown for the Y and our Reach Out For Youth and Families Campaign is tremendous and we are very thankful.”
