Vigil To Remember Foxborough 6-Year-Old Killed By Father

The town will hold a night of remembrance and community healing Tuesday night.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The Town of Foxborough will remember the short life of Anthony Scaccia Tuesday night at the center of town.

The town will hold a night of remembrance and community healing at 6:30 p.m. on the town common. Members of the local clergy will lead the community in prayer along with a moment of silence and followed by a candlelight vigil. Representatives from the Foxborough Veterans' Office and HUGS will also be available to offer their support, the town announced Monday.

Residents in town were shocked to learn of the details of the event that took Scaccia's life Thursday night. That evening, William F. Scaccia, 49, shot his son before turning the gun on himself Thursday night on East Street. Investigators said he attempted to burn down the house before killing himself. The boy's grandmother, who lives at the home, was able to extinguish the small fire before police arrived.
