Waxy O'Conner's Closed By Foxborough Health Department

The health department said the pub had perishable food coming in non-refrigerated vans, a moldy fridge and a bar without cleaning products.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Waxy O'Conner's has closed after the health department said the Irish pub repeatedly violated the town's health codes.

The restaurant on Main Street was called before the health department twice last year for possible code violations. Health director Pauline Zajdelmtol told the Sun Chronicle that more violations were found during a health inspection on Dec. 27. Some of the more serious violations included perishable food coming in non-refrigerated vans, mold on a refrigerator and lack of cleaning products in the bar area, Zajdelmtol said.

Waxy O'Conner's ownership is scheduled to appear before the health department on Jan. 14. The restaurant is allowed to request an emergency meeting if it wants to speed the process.
