13 Framingham HS Students Commended By National Merit Corp.

The Framingham students are among about 34,000 nationwide who missed out on a scholarship, but are still getting recognized.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Thirteen Framingham High School students who missed out on National Merit Corp. scholarships are being recognized for academic excellence. The National Merit semifinalists were announced in September.

The 13 Framingham students are getting letters of commendation from the National Merit Corp. for being among the top 5 percent of the 1.5 million students who entered the 2020 scholarship contest. Students enter the competition by taking the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Framingham senior Annabel R. Mendum was the sole local student to make it to the semi-finals. She and 16,000 other high-school seniors will go on to compete for the scholarships that will be announced in the spring.
