19 New Coronavirus Cases In Framingham, Officials Say

Just over a month after the outbreak began in Framingham, the city has counted 273 total coronavirus cases.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham added 19 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, bringing the city's new total to 273. City officials did not report any new deaths from the virus.

Since Framingham's first positive coronavirus test on March 11, 21 people have recovered from the virus, leaving 244 active cases in the city. Seven Framingham residents have died of coronavirus complications.

According to new research from UMass, Framingham has the 25th highest number of coronavirus cases per 10,000 residents out of the state's 40 largest cities. Framingham has more cases than larger cities like Springfield and New Bedford, according to the data.

Also on Wednesday, Framingham officials launched a new survey for business owners. The survey results will be used to find businesses that need assistance to weather the coronavirus crisis. The survey is available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
