2 New Framingham Coronavirus Deaths; 101 Recoveries

As Framingham's coronavirus cases near 350, the city is also reporting more than 100 people have recovered.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham's coronavirus case count steadily rose over the weekend — including two new deaths — but the number of people who have recovered from the virus has now exceeded triple digits.

Framingham's coronavirus cases hit 348 on Sunday with 101 people who have recovered. Subtracting nine total deaths, there are now 238 active cases in the city — that's down from 287 active cases reported on Friday.

The two coronavirus deaths were reported on Saturday. The overall case count grew by nine on Saturday and 24 on Sunday.

Following a Health Department order that all residents wear face coverings in public, Framingham is starting a program this week to collect and distribute cloth face masks. On Tuesday, residents can donate cloth masks at either public library location: 49 Lexington St. downtown and 746 Water St. in the Nobscot area. The masks will be distributed at a date yet to be named.
