2020 Salute To Framingham Honorees Announced
The annual Salute To Framingham — now in its 28th year — celebrates residents who have helped local youth.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — The two honorees for the 2020 Salute to Framingham awards have been announced. The annual event celebrates Framingham residents who have made a difference in the lives of young people.
The 2020 honorees are:
Alex Braverman — For decades, he has served as a coach and referee for Framingham United Soccer Club and Temple Beth AM basketball. He is also credited with helping rescue FUSC during financial difficulty in 2015, keeping youth soccer alive and kicking in Framingham.

Ricky Finlay — In addition to three terms on the Framingham School Committee, Finlay was instrumental in getting a new playground built for the Hoops and Homework program. He's also volunteered with Framingham Youth Football and Cheer, as a Cub Scout leader, and a member of the city's Disability Commission and City Seal Committee.
The 28th annual Salute to Framingham ceremony will be held on March 19 at the Sheraton Framingham. Proceeds from the event go to the Framingham High School Foundation. You can find more details and purchase tickets on the foundation's website.

The 2019 honorees were the Hoops and Homework after-school program, which received the Jim O'Connor Community Service Award. Arthur "Chip" DelPrete was honored with the "We Are Grateful" recognition after serving the Framingham School District for 36 years and serving as the director of the Thayer campus for the past eight years.
