3 Deaths, 72 New Coronavirus Cases In Framingham

FRAMINGHAM, MA — New coronavirus infections held steady in Framingham over the holiday week, with the city adding 72 new cases since Wednesday.

That brings the number of new cases over the past week to 188. Framingham also reported three new COVID-19-related deaths on Friday, bringing the total to 158 since the spring.

Last week, Framingham was added back to the state's list of high-risk communities. That's due to a higher rate of new daily infections and a higher positive test rate. The number of cases has risen noticeable in recent weeks, with weekly infections near 200 in each of the last three weeks:

Here's what November has looked like so far:

• Nov. 13 to Nov. 20 — 204 new cases
• Nov. 6 to Nov. 13 — 183 new cases
• Oct. 30 to Nov. 6 — 106 new cases
• Oct. 23 to Oct. 30 — 85 new cases

After shutting down for Thanksgiving, Framingham's two free coronavirus testing sites reopened Friday.

• TJX, 770 Cochituate Road (drive-up) — Weekdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• SMOC, 7 Bishop St. (walk-up) — Weekdays 3 to 6 p.m.
