5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: December 23

Framingham High School's Principal, Skate with Santa, Marian High basketball, and Framingham Downtown Renaissance's holiday bazaar featured.

1. Today, Dec. 23 is the last day of school for Framingham Public School students in 2014. Students begin their “holiday recess” until Monday, Jan. 5.

St. Bridget School, Marian High, and students at the Christa McAuliffe Charter School all began their Christmas break on Friday, Dec. 19. Those students, too, will not return until Jan. 5. The students at the Charter School will return to a new school campus in 2015 on Newbury Street in Framingham.




2. Framingham Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott told Framingham Patch last night Framingham High Principal Adam Goldberg is on “medical leave” again, and will return in 2015.

Goldberg, who started as principal in July, took a medical leave earlier this year for surgery. He announced that leave in his weekly newsletter to parents and students. There was no announcement this month on the latest leave.




3. Plan ahead: The Framingham High varsity hockey team will host its annual skate with Santa event at Loring Arena tomorrow, Dec. 24. The event is open to the public. It is from noon to 1:30 p.m.

4. Marian High’s boys basketball team will host AP tonight. Tip-off at 6:30 p.m.
