Uno's host fundraiser for Boston One Fund, 18th Annual Open Studios weekend, 21st Annual MetroWest Community Breakfast, 10th Annual Author Day and Moving West Dance Theatre celebrates 25th year all featured in today's column.

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.
1. Spring into art at the 18th Annual Open Studios Weekend at the Fountain Street Studios. The studios will be open tonight from 5:30 to 9 p.m. (The studios will also be open Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) More than 55 artists will open their studios to display and offer for sale arts, paintings, glass art, paper cuts, mixed media, fabric art, photography and more. Fountain Street Studios is the largest community of artists under one roof in MetroWest Sign up for future classes or workshops given by a number of our artists. Free parking. Studios are located in the historic Bancroft Building.
2. The Rev. Nick Carter is keynote speaker at 21st Annual MetroWest
Community Prayer Breakfast and John P. Garrahan Leadership in Diversity
Awards this morning at the Sheraton. The Alliance presents the Leadership in Diversity Awards annually to students from each high school located within the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce area, whose work in leading others in awareness and appreciation of diversity distinguishes them at their schools.

4. Today is the 10th Annual Author Day at Barbieri Elementary School.

5. Catch a performance of Bodies of Work at the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest at 8 p.m. Advanced tickets $14, $16 at the door. Moving West Dance Theatre celebrates its 25th year with this production of Bodies of Work. There is another show Saturday night.
