$5,000 Grant Given for Programs for People

Robert P. Lamprey, chairman of the MutualOne Charitable Foundation, has announced a $5,000 grant to Programs For People, a Framingham-based nonprofit agency serving MetroWest residents recovering from mental illness.

Now in its 40th year, Programs For People is the only area resource that provides psychiatric day services and employment services all under one roof. The goal of all treatments is to understand mental illness in order to prevent relapse, allowing individuals to live as productive a life as possible.

“The Foundation is pleased to help this self-supporting organization celebrate its 40th year,” said Lamprey. “The critical services it provides impacts many individuals and families in need in our community.”

The grant to Programs For People’s capital campaign was among awards totaling $63,375 in the MutualOne Charitable Foundation’s most recent round of funding.

Since it was established in 1998, the Foundation has donated more than $2.8 million to charitable, educational, and civic initiatives that improve and enhance the quality of life in Framingham, Natick, and surrounding communities.
