FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham reported 67 new coronavirus cases on Monday, a high mark not seen in a single reporting period since last spring.

Wednesday's number, however, includes cases that would typically have been reported on Monday. Framingham skipped reporting cases that day due to the Columbus Day holiday. Framingham is also reporting a new COVID-19 death, bringing the pandemic total to 138.

Framingham is also reporting a rise in the average number of new daily cases, a number that determines if the city stays on the state's high-risk list. Framingham was seeing nearly 15.92 new cases per day over the past two weeks (per 100,000 people) as of Wednesday. That number was at 12.8 on Oct. 7.
