Flyers B Team to Tackle Tyngsboro Tigers Tomorrow
Head coach Tony Tolson praises his seventh grade Bay State Conference champion football team.
Weymouth High was the setting for the (seventh graders) becoming the Bay State Conference Champions. The first-seed Flyers defeated the third-seed Walpole Rebels 26-0 last Sunday. It was an exciting day for all in the stands.
After the game, head coach Tony Tolson had this to say about his team: "What is there to say about a group of 12-year-old kids who go to school, have homework on a daily basis and put in about 8 ½ hours of practice and game time each week. These kids have been practicing and playing games since August. In a mid-season game that matched Framingham vs. Walpole in a battle of unbeatens, it was Walpole who squeaked out a 14-13 win. I believed that loss would be our turning point on refocusing ourselves to go as far as we can go!
"Well, the 7th grade Framingham Flyer Youth Football team not only avenged the one loss for the season against Walpole, we won the Bay State Conference Championship at the same time.

This is a great bunch of kids who work hard and deserve to be where they are at. They are respectful, kind and well mannered. This season, they were fortunate to have coaches as well as players from Framingham High come to practice and work with them, as well as privileged to stand on the sidelines during one of the high school games.
"Although Sunday’s game will be a challenge for us, I know these kids will work hard in practice this week, and give their best efforts."
