AAA: Gas Prices 43 Cents Lower Than December
According to AAA Southern New England, a year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $1.19 higher at $3.44.

AAA’s lastest survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.25 per gallon, down 11 cents from last week.
Prices locally are 43 cents lower than a month ago.
The current price is 12 cents more than the national average for self serve unleaded of $2.13.

“Today’s survey signals five weeks of double digit decreases, and 18 consecutive weeks of falling prices. So the downward trend certainly has significant momentum at this point,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs at AAA Northeast in a press release.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 84 cents, from a low of $2.05 to a high of $2.89.
