Body Of Framingham Resident Found After Kayaker Goes Underwater In Southborough

A search at Crystal Pond ended Sunday night after a kayaker went underwater, police said.

SOUTHBOROUGH, MA — The body of a 43-year-old Framingham resident was found Sunday night after a kayaker went underwater in Crystal Pond, police said.

Southborough police, fire and EMS responded around 4:25 p.m. Sunday, June 7, to a report of a possible drowning off Crystal Pond Road. A bystander reported seeing a kayak flip over and its occupant go underwater, police said.

Dive teams from District 14 Fire and Massachusetts State Police were called to the scene. The State Police Air Wing also assisted in the search, and Westborough police helped with the department’s Drone Unit.

The dive teams entered the water and found the body around 7:24 p.m., police said.

The incident remains under investigation. Further inquiries are being directed to Massachusetts State Police and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
