Framingham Police report third pedestrian fatal in less than a month (metrowestdailynews.com) — Framingham police are investigating a third fatal pedestrian crash in less than a month, this one Saturday night near 280 Worcester Road on Route 9. Two earlier crashes on Irving Street and Hollis Street also killed Framingham residents, with one suspect held on high bail and another still wanted on a warrant. Officials have released few details on the latest case, which remains under investigation.
   

2. JUST ONE STATION: Man charged with dragging dog by the leash outside of his truck in Framingham - Boston News, Weather, Sports (whdh.com) — A Framingham man has been charged with animal cruelty after witnesses reported a dog being dragged alongside a moving truck on Sunday afternoon, leading to his arrest on Second Street. The injured pit bull mix, Laika, is recovering at Framingham Animal Hospital after treatment for road rash and paw injuries. Neighbors intervened and called police, and prosecutors say the dog may have been dragged for several minutes.
   

3. 'We get closure': Woman's remains identified nearly 25 years after 9/11 attacks (eastidahonews.com) — A Framingham family is finally finding peace after the remains of Barbara Keating, who died on 9/11 aboard Flight 11, were identified through DNA nearly 25 years later. Her son describes the powerful sense of closure as they held a new burial ceremony, laying her to rest beside her husband and thanking New York City examiners for their persistence.
   

4. Dogfish Head Founder Sam Calagione, Lawson's Finest CEO Adeline Druart, to Headline 2026 MBG Con (bevnet.com) — Framingham's Jack's Abby Craft Lagers will host the Mass Brewers Guild's all-day MBG Con on Monday, Nov. 2, bringing brewery owners and staff from across the state to town. Sessions will cover brewing, finance, marketing, water chemistry, and AI tools, with keynotes from Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione and Lawson's Finest CEO Adeline Druart. Local industry folks can register now, with early-bird pricing through Oct. 26.
   

5. Massachusetts memorial honors 9/11 fallen firefighters (dailydispatch.com) — Framingham firefighters are among 27 Massachusetts firefighters whose names are being added to the Massachusetts Fallen Firefighters Memorial's Ring of Honor during this year's 9/11 remembrance ceremony in Boston. State and local leaders joined families to mark 25 years since the attacks and honor those who died in the line of duty. Organizers say the memorial had to expand as more names are sadly added.
