FRAMINGHAM, MA—Sometimes it's the shame and silence that makes it seemingly impossible to fight it.

Voices Against Violence (VAV), the domestic violence and rape crisis center serving communities in the greater Framingham and Marlborough areas of Metro West Boston, is hosting its 2017 Purple Passion 5K Run/Walk to Break the Silence fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 23, in support of the organization’s mission to end sexual and domestic violence, it announced in a press release.

This annual fundraiser features a timed 5K race and a 4K walk that begins and end at the South Middlesex Opportunity Council’s (SMOC) parking lot, 7 Bishop St., Framingham. There is a $30 registration fee for all timed runners and a $20 registration fee for casual runners and walkers.
