FRAMINGHAM, MA — A man wearing a mask robbed the Starbucks at the westbound Mass Pike rest stop in Framingham early Thursday morning. The robber escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash — some of which he left behind in the grass outside the coffee shop.

The robbery happened just before 6:30 p.m. The suspect flashed a handgun before taking money from the store's safe, state police said.

Police were on scene for much of the morning investigating. There was cash sitting in the grass around the coffee for much of that time, according to images from the scene.
