Assault With Stick In Framingham Lands Victim In Hospital: Police

A 58-year-old man was arrested after the Sunday afternoon incident, according to Framingham police.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A 58-year-old Framingham man was arrested and charged over the weekend after an assault with a stick in the downtown area, according to police.

Just before 3 p.m. Sunday, Framingham officers responded to a report of an assault near 90 Irving St. The attacker and the victim knew each other, police said.

After getting hit with the stick, the victim was taken to the MetroWest Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police reported. The attacker was arrested nearby at the intersection of Columbia and South streets. He was charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
