AT&T Names Gonterman Vice President and General Manager of AT&T New England

AT&T recently hired industry veteran Bryan Gonterman to manage mobility and consumer markets in New England. Gonterman will oversee the sales and operations of more than 1,300 employees, more than 200 retail and dealer locations across the six states, as well as national retail sales. He also will help guide wireless network deployment strategy across the region.

“Bryan brings tremendous talent to the table, with experience in nearly every aspect of the business, from network operations to retail management,” said Steve Hodges, regional president of AT&T’s Northeast Mobility Market. “Bryan’s expertise and successful track record make him a natural choice to lead our operations in New England.”

Gonterman previously served as assistant vice president for telecom operations and shared services at AT&T’s headquarters in Dallas, helping to plan, build and maintain AT&T’s domestic and global network. Before that, Gonterman served as the assistant vice president for legislative affairs for AT&T Texas in Austin and as executive director for regulatory affairs for AT&T Texas.

Gonterman started with AT&T, then SBC, in 1999 in Dallas. As an associate director, he was responsible for developing and implementing policies regarding AT&T’s local wholesale markets, negotiating agreements with competitive telephone companies, and representing AT&T in various state and federal regulatory proceedings.

Gonterman holds a degree in finance from Southern Illinois University. He is now based in AT&T’s New England headquarters in Framingham, Mass.

“I’m excited to get to know our customers in New England,” Gonterman said. “I look forward to continuing our efforts to deliver a premier customer experience, strengthen our relationships in the community and enhance our best-in-class wireless networks."
