Coronavirus In Framingham: 129 New Cases, 1 New Death

Framingham's latest coronavirus update comes ahead of the state's weekly assessment of viral spread in each community.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham has added 129 new coronavirus cases since Monday, city officials reported Wednesday, the fifth straight reporting period with more than 100 new cases.

The 129 reported Wednesday come on top of 130 cases reported on Monday from over the weekend. City officials also reported a new COVID-19 death, bringing the pandemic total to 161.

Framingham is now just 35 new cases away from marking 4,000 total cases since the pandemic began.

The state Department of Public Health on Thursday will release its weekly report on individual communities in the commonwealth. Framingham has been in the highest-risk category for several weeks as average daily cases and the overall positive test rate have been growing higher.
