FRAMINGHAM, MA — Waltham-based Crosspoint Associates Inc. is planning to redevelop the Whole Foods shopping plaza along Route 9 in Framingham, which would be the latest in a series of local shopping center upgrades the company has made recently.

The developer sent letters this week to residents who live near the Whole Foods plaza inviting them to a public meeting where the developer will preview plans. Crosspoint has not filed any applications with the Planning Board yet.

The three-acre property includes the Whole Foods, plus a smaller building that houses a Starbucks, a TD Bank, a Pilates studio, and a waxing salon. A liquor store next to the Whole Foods closed last month.

The property also backs up to the former Nissan dealership at 571 Worcester Road — but that property is still owned by an Acton-based company.

Crosspoint owns various properties in every New England state except Connecticut. The company recently rebuilt the Staples shopping center at the corner of Route 9 and Route 27 in Natick. Crosspoint also owns the shopping plaza at 30 Worcester Road, home to a Bob's Discount Furniture and a new Burton's Grill.
