The Secret Garden, by composer Lucy Simon and playwright Marsha Norman

Theater Musical

The Secret Garden, by composer Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman (Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of 'Night Mother), reimagines the beloved, classic book by Frances Hodgson Burnett in luminous musical style.
Orphaned in India in 1906, 11-year-old Mary Lennox must go to Yorkshire to live with her reclusive uncle and his invalid son.  A garden beckons the children with haunting melodies; the “Dreamers,” spirits from Mary's past, guide her as she, her family, and the garden come back to life in a compelling tale of forgiveness, renewal, and love. You will leave the theater smiling and singing. The Broadway production won three Tony Awards.  USA Today said, "A splendid, intelligent musical...It's all you can hope for in children's theatre.  But the best surprise is that this show is the most adult new musical of the season."Directed by Chip Sheeran; music direction by Jeff Kimball.
