Fire Department Offers Peek At New Saxonville Station
The Framingham Fire Department offered a sneak peek at the construction of the new Saxonville station.

FRAMINGHAM, MA- The Framingham Fire Department tweeted a video of the construction on the new Station 2 on Thursday.
Construction isn't finished but the department is happy with the progress made, adding the caption "Coming along nicely!
The project was approved by the city last year and the new Station 2 will replace the old Saxonville station. The replacement station had been planned for decades. The city had to borrow $5.8 million for the new station but stated it was a necessity for public safety.

The previous Saxonville station was built in the 1890's and didn't mean many of today's safety standards. The old station was too small to fit modern equipment and the electrical and fire systems were outdated.
