FRAMINGHAM, MA — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on in and around Framingham for 2023.

For the first time in 30 years, Framingham will host a fireworks display, but it will happen prior to July 4.

Billed as Stars & Stripes Over Framingham, the event will take place on the night of June 30 at Farm Pond Park.

There will be more than a dozen food trucks at Barbieri Elementary School and also music performances from Larry Bee & The Buzz followed by the U.S. Navy Band Northeast’s Ceremonial Band and Rhode Island Sound ensembles.

July 4 Festivities

What: Waltham Fireworks

Where: Near the Moody Street Bridge. Viewing locations here.

When: July 1 at dusk

A barge will be set up on the Charles River near the Moody Street Bridge for the fireworks display on July 1. That display is set to begin at dusk, with the bridge being closed to vehicle traffic and open only to foot traffic starting at 4 p.m.

Officials have released a list of viewing locations, which include spots like Waltham Common, the Riverwalk and McDevitt School Field, plus more. A full list of spots can be found here.


What: Waltham Family Celebration

Where: Prospect Hill Park

When: July 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Waltham Recreation Department is hosting a free July 4 Family Celebration at Prospect Hill Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature "food vendors, music, inflatables, patriotic crafts and games, amusements and an animal show," officials said.

What: Patriot Place Fireworks and Festivities

Where: Patriot Place, Foxborough

When: July 6

Patriot Place will host a patriotic fireworks display plus additional festivities on July 6.

The Dean College Stage will feature live entertainment from local band CarTune Heroes before the evening culminates in a robust fireworks spectacular beginning at approximately 9:15 p.m. For a full schedule and additional details, visit www.patriot-place.com/fireworks/.
