Four New Coronavirus Deaths In Framingham: Officials

Framingham's coronavirus case total edged toward 1,300 on Monday, officials reported.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Four more Framingham residents died of coronavirus over the last 24 hours, officials reported on Monday — that's on top of 10 people who died between Friday and Saturday.

Over the course of the pandemic, 56 Framingham residents have died of coronavirus. The city's total case count rose to 1,282 on Monday with the addition of 54 new cases. Subtracting deaths and 401 people who have recovered, there were 825 active cases on Monday.

Statewide, Massachusetts reported 129 new deaths on Monday, bringing the total to 5,108. However, hospitalizations statewide continued to drop on Monday to 3,102, down from a peak of 3,965 on April 21.

There were 48 people hospitalized with coronavirus at Framingham Union Hospital on Monday, and 16 of those people were in intensive care. As of last Monday, there were 58 people hospitalized with seven in intensive care at Framingham Union, according to state figures.
