Framingham 9/11 Ceremony To Honor Victims With Local Ties

The city will pay tribute to 17 victims who had ties to Framingham during an evening ceremony.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Seventeen people with connections to Framingham were victims of 9/11. Now, more than 20 years on, the city continues to honor them.

That won't change this year on Sept. 11, when a ceremony will pay tribute to those 17 people during a 5:30 p.m. ceremony at Living Memorial at Cushing Memorial Park.

Those with connections to Framingham to be remembered during the ceremony are: Barbara Keating, Linda George, John Wenckus, Lisa Fenn Gordenstein, Meta Fuller Waller, Neilie Heffernan Casey, Paige Farley Hackel, Robin Kaplan, Tara Shea Creamer, Todd Hill, Susan Mackay, Christine Barbuto, Judith Larocque, Laura Lee Morabito, Herbert Homer, Charlie Murphy and Darin Pontell.

"The commemorative event will feature solemn remarks, a reading of the names engraved on the memorial, prayer offerings, and a moving presentation of the colors by the dedicated members of the Framingham Fire and Police Department Color and Honor Guards," city officials said.
