Framingham Artists, Nonprofits Get MA Cultural Council Grants

The Mass Cultural Council announced two types of grants this week benefiting individuals and organizations.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Mass Cultural Council (MCC) announced a new round of grants last week, and several will benefit local artists and arts groups.

The MCC grants came from two separate programs: 58 Artist Fellowship Awards, which go directly to artists; and 173 Project Grants, which go to arts organizations.

The MCC funds local cultural councils in towns and cities across the state, plus local artists, arts events and nonprofits. Here are the recent grant recipients from Framingham:

Artist Fellowship Grants

  • Diane Arvanites, $5,000 for choreography
  • Tatiana Johnson-Boria, $15,000 for poetry
  • Ivelisse Pabon (Ashland), $5,000 for traditional arts
