FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Framingham-based Staples company announced last week it is launching a new co-working brand called Staples Studio. The news comes a few months after the company announced its separation from Workbar, a co-working company.

The Staples Studio is a membership based program that offers work spaces for mobile workers, commuters, entrepreneurs and small businesses. Spaces have opened in three Massachusetts Staples retail locations: Brighton, Danvers and Norwood. The space offers shared workspaces and private or shared offices along with unlimited coffee and tea.

The rooms are designed to look modern and are fully stocked for when users may need to entertain clients. “Many of our customers are small business owners, side-gig enthusiasts or have jobs that keep them mobile. We have thoughtfully designed Staples Studio to be an ecosystem of resources for businesses in a connected environment that will allow our coworking members to focus on what they do best,” said Mike Motz, Chief Executive Officer, Staples US retail in a statement.

Staples split from Workbar in February. "The coworking program from Workbar that we made available to Staples customers in-store provided good learnings for both of our organizations, as well as a differentiated solution for businesses,” said Staples Chief Merchandising Officer, Peter Scala, in a statement.
