Framingham Boston Market Closed: What To Know

The Cochituate Road location is closed, and a district court judge in Framingham issued the store a seizure notice.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — There were no opening activities happening on Friday morning at the Boston Market on Cochituate Road. Instead, plastered on the door was a notice with big block lettering: "Seizure".

According to the notice, the courts have levied and seized from Boston Market Corporation all real and personal property located at the 341 Cochituate Rd. location as of June 5.

Framingham District Court records confirm that litigation was filed against Boston Market — Route 30 Mall Framingham, LLP V. Boston Market Corporation — on March 13 for "possession and rent" issues.

The store has been closed for over a week, and a phone number linked to the Framingham location is disconnected.

In regards to the seizure, all tangible items were removed from the business and taken to a local storage facility, according to the notice, and the seizure also includes Boston Market's local liquor license at the location.

Patch reached out to Boston Market and the attorney for Route 30 Mall Framingham, LLP on Tuesday.

This comes nearly a month after the Denver Post reported that the Colorado Department of Revenue posted similar seizure notices on the doors of the company's headquarters over $300,000 in unpaid sales and payroll taxes.

Boston Market was sold by Sun Capital Partners, Inc., in 2020 to Engage Brands, LLC. Engage is one of the Rohan Group Of Companies, owned by real estate investor and restaurant operator, Jignesh (Jay) Pandya of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, according to a news release at the time.

The company was founded in Newton, Mass. in 1985.
