Eagle Scout Project benefits Hoops and Homework

Daniel Aromando, a Life Scout with Troop 1 out of Sherborn and rising seat Framingham High School, partnered with Hoops and Homework, a nonprofit organization that provides homework assistance to kids living in Framingham’s Cochituate Homes Cooperative on Interfaith Terrace. For six Tuesday afternoons in a row, Daniel led a group of volunteers which included his twin brother Derek, many of his lifelong friends and other scouts and adult leaders from Troop 1, to instruct the kids in basketball skills to include dribbling, shooting, free throws, offensive and defensive plays and fun basketball games like knock out. Daniel is anticipating completing his Eagle Scout rank in August 2022.

Eagle Scout Project benefits at risk students at Framingham High School

Derek Aromando, who is a Life Scout with Troop 1 out of Sherborn and junior at Framingham High School For six weeks ran a drive to collect clothing for students at Framingham High School who are at risk, struggling, or live in shelters. On three separate occasions he led a group of volunteers which included his twin brother Daniel, many of his lifelong friends and other scouts and adult leaders from Troop 1 to organize the donations. He collected over 600 pieces of clothing and more than 500 were placed in the closet that is maintained at the high school for the students. Several of the remaining pieces will be donated to the closet maintained by Farley Middle School. Derek will have his Eagle Scout Board of Review in August of 2022.
