Callahan Center Hosting Senior Week To Celebrate Older Americans Month

FRAMINGHAM – To celebrate Older Americans Month in May, the Callahan Center in Framingham is hosting senior week from May 13-17.

This beloved tradition of senior week returns, after a hiatus since 2019.

In honor of Older Americans Month (OAM) and this year’s theme, "Powered by Connection" Senior Week is filled with events, programs, and performances tailored to the Callahan Community, ages 55 and older.

Teri Shea, programs manager at the Callahan Center, emphasized the significance of community engagement in promoting healthy aging.

"It's not just about having someone to chat with," Shea said. "It's about recognizing the profound impact that meaningful connections can have on the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of older adults."

Senior Week at the Callahan Center promises an array of engaging activities and experiences for participants. From insightful discussions with special guest Tom Caron, NESN Sportscaster, to captivating performances by illusionist Lyn Dillies and Elvis tribute artist Robert Black, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The schedule of events includes:

  • Sports Fanatics Opening Senior Week Celebration with Tom Caron: Monday, May 13, 10 a.m.
  • Illusionist Lyn Dillies: Monday, May 13, 2 p.m.
  • Ted Reinstein presents "Why Diners Matter": Tuesday, May 14, 6 p.m.
  • Jewels of Framingham (By invitation only): Wednesday, May 15.
  • Senior Week Bonus Bingo!: Wednesday, May 15, 1-3 p.m.
  • Elvis Tribute Artist, Robert Black: Thursday, May 16, 2 p.m.
  • Mark Goldman Senior Social: Friday, May 17, 9-11 a.m.
