Framingham Fire Displaces Family; 30 Firefighters Fight Blaze
The residents of the house were able to get out safely with their pets, but the home is uninhabitable. They are staying with family.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A basement fire in a Framingham home took 30 firefighters to put out on Thursday. The fire broke out in a home on Berry Street around 10:46 a.m. Fire officials said they had the body of the fire under control within 30 minutes but cleared the area around 1:30 p.m.
Although the fire started in the basement, Assistant Fire chief Mike Dutcher said smoke traveled throughout the home. The department posted a video to its Facebook page, showing smoke billowing from windows, including the second floor window. Dutcher said there was significant damage to the home and it is currently uninhabitable.
A family of three lives in the home, two adults were home with the family pets when the fire broke out. Dutcher said they all made it out safely, including the dog and cats. They will be staying with family.

One firefighter sustained a minor injury while battling the blaze and was taken to MetroWest Medical Center for treatment. Dutcher said he is expected to be okay.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
