Framingham Hockey Icon John Hart Has Died

John Hart, who worked with Framingham Youth since 1970, has died.

“Today, November 11, 2014 marks a day that Framingham Youth Hockey Program has lost an icon,” wrote Bob Lewis, president of the Framingham Youth Hockey Program to families Tuesday night.

Hart had worked with Framingham youth since 1970.

Hart was the longest member of Framingham Youth Hockey Program Board of Directors.

“Most will remember John working with the beginner program, teaching skating skills to young children and mentoring the up and coming coaches for 40 plus years,” wrote Lewis.

Hart was a 2001 Salute to Framingham honoree.

In 2003, he was inducted into the Massachusetts Hockey Hall of Fame.

Funeral arrangements are underway and more information will be shared as soon as it becomes available.
