Framingham To Host Flag Day Parade, Ceremony This Weekend

The Flag Day Parade is returning to Framingham for 2023. Here's where it will take off.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Flag Day is celebrated each year of June 14, but the holiday will come a little early this year in Framingham.

The Framingham Celebration Committee is hosting a parade and ceremony in honor of the holiday on June 11 at Cushing Memorial Park.

The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. at the Cushing Memorial Chapel, 60 Dudley Rd., and will proceed counter-clockwise around the park, Framingham officials said.

A short ceremony at the flag pole near the Cushing Memorial Chapel is scheduled for after the parade at 11:11 a.m., officials said.

“It has been a pleasure to work with this incredible group of folks over the past two years to bring the Flag Day Parade and celebration of our flag back to Framingham,” said Framingham Celebration Committee member Phil Ottaviani Jr.

“I am looking forward to another awesome day of events with all our partners in City government and members of our community.”

The Framingham Elks will be participating in the parade and carrying a giant flag along the route, officials said, along with Framingham Scout troops, Framingham High sports teams and elected officials.

Framingham Police Lt. Robert Downing is set to be the master of ceremonies.
