Framingham To Host State Census Kick-Off Event
The event begins the one year countdown to Census Day.
FRAMINGHAM, MA- The city will host a census kick-off event for leaders around the state on April 1.
The 2020 Census Kick-Off Event will take place at Nevins Hall at 10 a.m. April 1st marks one year until Census Day, though many households will begin receiving communications from the United States Census Bureau in March of 2020.
“The census determines the resources that come to Framingham, and I want to make sure that everyone is counted,” said Mayor Yvonne M. Spicer. “Framingham is proud to support the census kick-off and is thrilled to have the opportunity to shine an even brighter light on this important endeavor.”

Certain populations, including immigrants, non-English speakers, and students are often undercounted in the census. More than 25% of Framingham residents are foreign-born, while Framingham State University brings a sizeable student population to the city.
