Framingham Man Convicted In 2022 Rape

The charges of rape and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon stemmed from a 2022 assault at a Framingham Red Roof Inn.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A Framingham man was convicted on two counts of rape stemming from the assault of a woman at a local Red Roof Inn in 2022.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Framingham Chief of Police Lester Baker have confirmed that Lance McDonald, 37, has been convicted of two counts of rape, one count of armed robbery, one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of wiretap violation in connection with sexually assaulting a woman at the Red Roof Inn in Framingham.

On April 25, 2022, McDonald arranged to meet the victim, a 42-year-old woman, in response to an advertisement for sexual services. When he met the victim at the hotel, he physically and sexually assaulted her, officials said.

McDonald also grabbed a knife and threatened to kill her, before striking her in the head with a coat hanger and robbing her, officials said.

The victim reported the incident to police and investigators were able to identify McDonald based on photos provided by the victim and a surveillance system screenshot from the hotel. Police located a recording of the incident, which he had taken without the victim’s knowledge or consent, during a search of his phone.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 31.
