Framingham Man Shot By State Police During Arrest Attempt

State police were trying to arrest Enrique Gonzalez, 42, on warrants for child porn and drug possession.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A Framingham man wanted on child porn and drug offenses was shot by state police during an attempted arrest in West Springfield on Friday.

A state police fugitive task force went to the Express Inn along Riverdale Street Friday afternoon to arrest Enrique Gonzalez, 42, on warrants for photographing a child in a sexual manner, and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Police tried to arrest Gonazlez when they saw him leave the motel. He ran behind the building, and that's when police say he opened fire on them. Police fired back and hit Gonzalez.

Two medics attached to the fugitive task force stabilized Gonzalez at the scene. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for further treatment. State police said they will arrest Gonzalez once he recovers.

No police were injured during the shooting.
